No needles. No oral medications.

Iontophoresis is a non-invasive method of delivering medications directly into a localized treatment area. It is an easy to apply, simplified, and time efficient therapeutic regimen for many common issues presented to the physical therapist.

Compounds commonly used for iontophoretic delivery include corticosteroids (Dexamethasone sodium phosphate and Methylprednisolone sodium sulfate), Lidocaine, Epinephrine, and Hyaluronic Acid. Treatment times range from 10-30 minutes (typically 4 mA for 10 minutes for physical therapy applications). Applications can be repeated every 48 hours.

Avoid the risks and inconveniences of injection therapy, and the systemic affects of oral applications.

The Iontophor-II Iontophoresis Device delivers a reliable dose of constant current in a programmable hand-held unit. Multiple treatment options are easily and consistently applied, with an eye towards time-efficiency, cost effectiveness, and patient compliance.

Relive Pain. Reduce Swelling. Increase Range of Motion.

Indications for Iontophoresis:

  • Joint Pain and Inflammation
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Musculoskeletal disorders
  • Shoulder tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Pain
  • Acute and chronic edema
  • Strains and Sprains

Improve iontophoresis treatment safety, comfortably.

Meditrodes are available in seven different sizes and five different shapes to enable application over a variety of surface areas, including finger, elbow, ankle, shoulder and temporomandibular joint. Secure, yet gentle flexible backing adhesive removes easily from even fragile skin.

Reduce the risk of patient burns caused by dried-out electrodes with the help of top-fill ports.

Convenient top fill ports allow filling after electrode application helping to ensure secure adhesion. If re-wetting the absorbent pad during treatment is necessary, simply pause delivery, add solution through the ports, and resume treatment!  Top ports also prevent by-product gas buildup, reducing skin irritation and excessive pH shifts.

Meditrode Features:

  • Five (5) shapes, seven (7) sizes
  • Easy and convenient top fill ports
  • Secure and gentle adhesive
  • Made in the USA
